Founded in 2008 with the aim of promoting amateur radio in Co Donegal.
We promote the study and enjoyment of amateur radio and offer essential services to support our members. We encourage inclusion, diversity, and active participation on the air.
Radio amateurs experiment with and operate homemade and commercial radio communications equipment. We use our knowledge and skill to communicate with other radio amateurs around the world, using radio frequencies.
We hold regular meetings and the club has undertaken projects such as:
Field Days / Summit on the Air / Park on the Air
Reactivation of the VHF Repeater covering the North West of Ireland
Preparation and advice for the Amateur Radio Station Exam
Providing Scouts & Clubs Hands on experience with using Amateur Radio Equipment
Educational talks at meetings on interesting facets of the hobby such as FT8, ADS-B and much more
Advice on radios / antennas / installation help and advice
